Max Clermont
Regional Director, State Patient Advocacy (Northeast), Vertex Pharmaceuticals
Max Clermont is a patient advocacy and engagement professional based in Cambridge, MA. He is a former senior adviser with Partners In Health (PIH) where he led technical, operational and strategic advising for public health practitioners working to build more resilient, community-oriented health systems across the US. Prior to PIH, Max served as chief of staff at the University of Chicago Medicine's Trauma Center, supporting the launch of the center and design of the hospital-based violence recovery program. He is a former project manager with 270 Strategies, a consulting firm in Chicago, IL. While there, he advised health sector clients on advocacy strategy, health equity, and the development and implementation of patient engagement programs. Before joining 270, Max was a Regional Field Director for President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign and has previously held positions with Data for Black Lives, Mayor Alex Morse, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Max has leverageable expertise in the social determinants of health, public/private partnerships and the use of measurement and evidence based practices to drive KPIs in numerous sectors. He serves on the board of directors for Bottom Line, Just A Start, and the Brown Alumni Association. He holds a M.P.H. from Brown University with a concentration in health services, policy & practice.
