WCVB: $10 million Shah Family Foundation grant will launch healing research at Mass. General Brigham

BOSTON — A Boston-based foundation is giving $10 million to jumpstart a new program aimed at researching new therapies that can help patients heal.

The Center for Comprehensive Healing will be created within the integrated Department of Psychiatry at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital using the grant money from the Shah Family Foundation, Mass. General Brigham and the foundation announced Thursday morning.

Their announcement described a vision for a research center focused on developing and sharing evidence-based interventions that support healing. Examples of potential research areas mentioned in the announcement were massage therapy, acupuncture, tai chi, EFT, meditation, energy healing and mindfulness.
